Use advice for data set
Please take note that this data is directly applicable to small scale retail pig farming and may not be entirely suitable for large scale commercial operations. When utilizing this data, it’s imperative to consider the specific variables measured, such as the feeding cycle, meat to feed ratio, feed formula, and the consumption of feed, coal, and electricity. Additionally, CH4 emissions from poultry are considered negligible and excluded. Data regarding fertilizers, electricity, and coal consumption should be cross-referenced with relevant statistical yearbooks and public records from national statistical agencies or agricultural departments for comprehensiveness and verification purposes.
Technical purpose of product or process
This data set represents the environmental impact assessment of retail pig raising during the livestock and poultry raising stage. It is intended for use by organizations or individuals involved in farming, environmental assessment, policy-making, and agricultural business planning. The data can provide insight into the pollutant emissions from gastrointestinal fermentation of pigs as well as their energy consumption for heating, lighting, and equipment operation. It is mostly applicable to small-scale pig farmers and researchers analyzing the environmental impacts of pig farming practices.

Hierarchy level
|
The pollutant emission of livestock and poultry in the raising stage mainly comes from the pollutant emission of livestock and poultry gastrointestinal fermentation, and the pollutant emission generated by the energy consumption of livestock and poultry heating, lighting and equipment operation. Because of the different physiological structure of birds, the amount of CH4 produced in intestinal fermentation is very small, so it is ignored

Technology description including background system
In this paper, the life cycle of livestock and poultry farming is divided into six stages: feed crop planting, feed processing, livestock and poultry raising, manure treatment, slaughter and transportation. The specific life cycle process of livestock and poultry breeding is shown in Figure 2-1. Due to the lack of some data and the limitations of basic conditions, the production, transportation and use of pesticides, mulch and feed additives have not been analyzed, and the environmental impact caused by other related infrastructure construction, transport production and labor costs is no longer considered.
