Use advice for data set
This LCA dataset is relevant for environmental impact assessments of interior wooden doors. Users should note that the data only includes the production phase activities and omits labor costs, full factory construction costs, and secondary and tertiary packaging production and transportation costs. Additionally, applications should account for the specific disposal scenarios: recycling, landfill, or incineration, and integrate varying door service life for more accurate impact modeling.
Technical purpose of product or process
The solid wood composite door, using straw-density fiberboard and hydropower, is intended for residential interior use. Chain of custody is maintained from sourcing the raw materials to the finished product, ensuring sustainable manufacturing practices in the Chinese market, where the product has a usage lifespan ranging from 5 to 20 years.

Technology description including background system
The entire life cycle of a wooden door has been divided into three stages that have been separately analyzed, namely the production stage, the use stage, and the disposal stage. The production stage of this study consists of four sub-stages: the raw material stage, the transportation stage, the woodworking shop stage, and the painting shop stage. The wood wax oil required to maintain the doors, the electricity required for drying, and the first level of transportation costs are the main inputs in the use stage of wooden doors. Three scenarios were considered in this study to determine the best disposal methods: recycling, 100% landfill, and 100% incineration. To find a more environmentally friendly production mode, the common density board was replaced with the straw-density board, and the power supply method of thermal power generation was replaced with hydroelectric power generation.
