General comment | An emulsion is a type of colloid formed by combining two liquids that normally don't mix. It is a physical chemistry term for a mixture of two or more liquids in which one is present as droplets, distributed throughout the other. Emulsions are stabilized by agents that form films at the surface of the droplets or impart mechanical stability. There are three kinds of emulsions: temporary, semi-permanent, and permanent. |
