General comment | Down feathers are three-dimensional and store much more air than traditional feathers, providing better insulation. They are a natural product that rarely causes skin rashes or allergic reactions. Down is a cluster of fluffy filaments without quills, while feathers, from the plumage of waterfowl, contain quills. They provide insulation and support to down and feather products. The down-to-feather ratio determines the insulation quality, with 90% down and 10% feathers being the best. Down pillows, filled with the soft inner layer of waterfowl feathers, are preferred by many for their plushness and moldability. |
