General comment | Solvent-based gravure ink is the most commonly used type of gravure ink. It consists of a pigment or dye dissolved in a solvent, which evaporates quickly after application, leaving the pigment or dye on the substrate. Solvent-based ink is ideal for printing on non-porous substrates, such as plastic films, metal foils, and laminated papers. The dominant gravure printing process, referred to as rotogravure, employs web presses equipped with a cylindrical plates. |
