Sum Formula O2
General comment Liquid oxygen, abbreviated as LOx, LOX, LOXygen or Lox, is the liquid form of molecular oxygen. It was used as the oxidizer in the first liquid-fueled rocket. Liquid Oxygen therapy uses pure oxygen and is often prescribed to patients who need high levels of oxygen. It is a member of the chalcogen group in the periodic table, a highly reactive nonmetal, and an oxidizing agent that readily forms oxides with most elements and compounds. Oxygen is Earth's most abundant element.
