Hot melt adhesives are 100% solid materials that are applied from the melt. They are one-part, solvent-free thermoplastic adhesives that are solid at room temperature and a low to medium viscosity adhesive at dispensing temperatures. The main advantage of hot melt adhesives is the quick set time. Additionally, hot melt adhesives have a long shelf life and don't require any special disposal method. They also don't give off volatile organic compounds as some water-based adhesives do.
