| General comment | Polyvinyl chloride or vinyl (PVC) is a polymer in which more than half of the content by weight consists of chlorine. PVC is produced by polymerization of the vinyl chloride monomer. It comes in two basic forms: Rigid and flexible. It is used in a variety of applications in the building and construction, health care, electronics, automobile and other sectors. It is a valued construction material in the window and door joinery industry, necessary for the production of energy-saving window profiles and window sills. In medicine, it is used in the manufacture of prosthetic limbs, hearing aids, protective films, syringes or tubes. |
