Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), also known as poly (ethylene-vinyl acetate) (PEVA), is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. The weight percent of vinyl acetate usually varies from 10 to 40%, with the remainder being ethylene. It is a thermoplastic material that is flexible, resilient and provides excellent impact resistance. EVA is a relatively new polymer as it was first produced in the 1950s by DuPont.
