General comment | Iron pellet production is a process where iron ore is processed and agglomerated for use in iron and steelmaking. The process involves reducing iron ore pellets and/or lump iron ores by a reducing gas to produce DRI or hot briquetted iron (HBI). The production of iron ore pellets from fines to finished product can differ based on a variety of factors. Iron ore pellets are normally produced in two types of quality grades: DRI grade and BF grade. The pellet production method was invented in Sweden in 1912 |
