General comment | Polyfoam is the abbreviated term for polyurethane foam, sometimes called flexible polyurethane foam (FPF), per the Polyurethane Foam Association (PFA). It has been around since 1937 and has become quite popular for its ability to provide cushioning. It is a rigid, semirigid, or rubbery foam composed of minute bubbles of air or carbon dioxide embedded in a polymer matrix, often polyurethane. It is used in mattresses, padding, insulation, etc. Polyurethane foam, also known as polyfoam, is one of the most used bedding materials. |
