General comment | Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, also known as UHMW or UHMWPE, belongs to the thermoplastic polymer family. It has the best wear resistance among all synthetic resins due to its extremely high molecular weight. UHMWPE in its isotropic state has high wear resistance, a low coefficient of friction, self-lubricating properties, high chemical inertness, good strength, and biocompatible properties.
