Use advice for data set
When utilizing this dataset for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) purposes, it is crucial to consider the specific years of data collection (2014-2015) and the regional focus of the research (various locations in China). The feed processing energy data should be appropriately scaled and adjusted based on current electricity and coal consumption rates if used to represent contemporary processes. Attention should be paid to changes in feed formula and production technology that might have occurred since the data was collected. Data users should also account for methodological differences when comparing with other datasets and ensure that the scope of the study aligns with the intended application in terms of livestock and poultry species and the scale of operations.
Technical purpose of product or process
The described industrial process relates to the feed processing stage for dairy farms and involves the breeding of livestock and poultry. The use of this data is specific to the animal husbandry and agriculture sector, particularly focusing on dairy cows retail. It is relevant for the assessment of energy consumption (electricity and coal) in the production of feed for livestock including pigs, dairy cows, and poultry. The data can be used for operations such as large-scale feed processing plants and can be helpful for environmental impact studies within the context of agricultural practices and livestock management.

Technology description including background system
In this paper, the life cycle of livestock and poultry farming is divided into six stages: feed crop planting, feed processing, livestock and poultry raising, manure treatment, slaughter and transportation. The specific life cycle process of livestock and poultry breeding is shown in Figure 2-1. Due to the lack of some data and the limitations of basic conditions, the production, transportation and use of pesticides, mulch and feed additives have not been analyzed, and the environmental impact caused by other related infrastructure construction, transport production and labor costs is no longer considered.
