Use advice for data set | While using the LCI data from Chongqing Xiaonanhai Cement Plant, ensure to include the accumulative process data for both raw material extraction and cement manufacturing within the system boundaries. The system boundaries begin from raw material extraction and end at the manufacturing of the cement itself. When modeling the use phase or conducting further analysis, consider that the functional unit represents the amount of ordinary portland cement necessary for 1 m3 of standard concrete mix. The standard mix ratio includes 365 kg of cement, 601.2 kg of sand, and 1378.9 kg of aggregate. Recycling or the utilization of industrial by-products should not be considered in this LCI as the dataset does not account for such processes. |
Technical purpose of product or process | The ordinary portland cement produced by Chongqing Xiaonanhai Cement Plant is mainly utilized in the construction industry for creating standard concrete mixtures. This specific type of cement is appropriate for the construction of buildings, infrastructure, and other projects requiring a strong and durable concrete. The production does not involve the use of industrial waste materials, therefore it is essential for applications demanding a high degree of purity in cement composition. |

Sampling procedure | Chongqing Xiaonanhai Cement Factory is one of the first batch of cleaner production pilot enterprises identified by the Chongqing Municipal Economic Commission in 2005. It has three 3X11m vertical kiln cement production lines and two 350,000-ton new dry process rotary kiln production lines. The products are ordinary Portland cement and composite Portland cement. | ||||
