Use advice for data set
| Users utilizing this LCA data set should focus on the carbon footprint associated with the cement clinker production process only. The carbon emission value considers direct CO2 emissions from fuel consumption and indirect emissions from electrical energy consumed during production. The mining of the raw materials except for bauxite is excluded from this data set. For accurate assessment, users should estimate the functional unit as 1 ton of clinker and should take into account technological specifics of the 'two grinding and one burning' process in cement production. Further consideration for environmental impact should include the consumption of various fuels, predominantly coal, in the direct emissions calculation. |
Technical purpose of product or process
| The industrial process described relates to the production of high belite sulpho-aluminate cement clinker using mixed solid wastes. The raw materials include petroleum coke desulfurization ash, fly ash, calcium carbide slag, and low-grade bauxite. This type of clinker is an essential component in the manufacturing of high belite sulpho-aluminate cement which is used in the cement industry. |

Model description
|
The functional unit is unknown, but it is estimated to be 1t of clinker based on literature data. The entire life cycle of cement production includes the mining of raw materials and the entire process of producing raw materials into cement. In the process of cement production, we mainly consider the "two grinding and one burning" of the cement production process and the direct output of carbon dioxide to the environment from the consumption of various fuels (mainly coal), as well as the indirect output of carbon dioxide to the environment from the electricity consumed in cement production. . The carbon footprint of raw material mining for petroleum coke desulfurization ash, fly ash, and carbide slag is not calculated in the production of high-belite sulfoaluminate cement clinker. The mining of bauxite is mainly considered here.
