Use advice for data set When using this LCA dataset, the user should consider the technological applicability of the RSP five-stage kiln external decomposition technology and the specific context of production in Dalian, China. Due to the difficulties in data collection, the users should exercise caution regarding the emission factors and may need to adjust them based on locale-specific environmental regulations and emission data. Users should also take into account that the data may need to be converted to reflect energy and raw material relationships, and that the LCA method was not used for modeling in this dataset.
Technical purpose of product or process The described process is utilized for the production of portland-composite cement of 32.5R MPa grade. This type of cement is commonly used for general construction purposes, such as in the making of precast concrete elements, residential buildings, pavements, and other infrastructures requiring moderate strength. The process implements modern dry production with RSP technology to enhance efficiency and produce cement at a large scale of 4000 tonnes per day.

Data source(s) used for this data set
Sampling procedure DOCC is a large-scale cement production enterprise jointly constructed and operated by Pacific Cement Co., Ltd. and China Huaneng Integrated Industries Corporation. The company was founded in 1989, covering an area of 500,000 square meters with a total investment of US$188 million. The company currently has 376 employees. The company now has a 4,000t/d modern dry process production line (reinforced suspension preheater (RSP) outside the kiln decomposition equipment), its own independently mined open-pit limestone mine (annual limestone production capacity of 2 million tons) and The factory has a dedicated railway line and a dedicated line for bulk cement output to the terminal, with an annual production of 1.9 million tons of cement. The company has now passed the ISO14001:2004 environmental management system certification.

General comment SO2. The main source of SO2 emissions in the production of building materials is from sulfides contained in fuels and raw materials.

Emissions / Emissions to air / Emissions to air, unspecified 0.6815 kg0.6815 kg
General comment NOX. The emissions of NOx in the production of building materials come from two main sources. The first is the combination of N and O2 in the air at high temperatures, which is directly related to the temperature. The second is the low-temperature combination of N and O2 in the fuel, which is related to the concentration of O2.

General comment CO2. The main sources of CO2 emissions in the building materials industry are from fuel combustion and raw material decomposition. Due to the lack of statistical data on industrial pollutant emissions, it is very difficult to collect data, and some data cannot be obtained directly. Therefore, an energy and raw material conversion method is used to obtain the data.

General comment COD (chemical oxygen demand) (mg/l). Chemical oxygen demand (COD) refers to the amount of oxidant consumed when treating wastewater with a strong oxidant. It is used to measure the degree of organic pollution in wastewater. The larger the COD value, the more severe the wastewater pollution.

General comment Petroleum (mg/l). Oil pollution in wastewater mainly comes from production enterprises such as steel, coking, and petrochemicals. According to the size of the oil droplet diameter, there are three forms of oil substances in wastewater: floating oil, dispersed oil, and emulsified oil, and the difficulty of separation from wastewater increases in that order.
