Use advice for data set Users of this dataset should note that the functional unit is defined as the use performance of 1 tonne of 42.5 ordinary Portland cement. The system boundary for this LCA data is confined to the direct production process within the cement plant, which includes raw material entry, pretreatment, grinding of raw meal, calcination of raw meal, clinker grinding, until cement homogenization and storage. It does not account for upstream processes like raw material extraction, processing, or transportation. The geographical scope of this study is limited to the Beijing area, and users should be cautious when extrapolating this data to other regions or different production settings.
Technical purpose of product or process The ordinary Portland cement with a strength grade of 42.5MPa described in this dataset is typically used in construction applications such as the building of infrastructure, residential and commercial structures. Its high strength makes it suitable for concrete components like beams, slabs, and columns that require significant load-bearing capacity. This dataset specifically accounts for environmental impact when incorporating waste incineration into the cement production process.

Mathematical model
Model description Functional unit definition: Take the performance of 1t 42.5 ordinary Portland cement as a functional unit. The system boundary is: from the entry of raw materials, raw material pretreatment, raw meal grinding, raw meal calcination, clinker grinding, until cement homogenization and storage, that is, the direct production process of cement in the entire cement plant, excluding raw material mining, Processing and transportation process. The geographical scope of the study is the Beijing area.

General comment CO2. Since the volume of CO2 is generally not detected, the emissions are calculated according to the following formulas. CO2 generates the combustion of fossil energy such as fuel, coal-fired and other fossils, as well as limestone decomposition in cement production raw materials. (1) CO2 emissions of fossil energy combustion are calculated as follows: e = 3.67fqka. E is the emissions of CO2, KG; F is the consumption of fuel, kg; Q is fuel thermal mass, mj/kg; K is the carbon emissions coefficient of fuel; A is the carbon oxidation rate of fuel. (2) During the production of cement, the chemical reactions of raw materials limestone generate a large number of CO2 chemical reactions: CACO3 → Cao+CO2 ↑. The percentage of 1kg of limestone CAO is calculated at 48%. In the end, the estimated formula for CO2 emissions is: CO2 emissions = limestone consumption*0.38+e = 271kg+501kg = 772kg.
