General comment From the perspective of more mainstream recycling, PV systems are generally disassembled first. The disassembling stage mainly consumes electricity. The decommissioned BOS produces scrap metal materials in this stage. PV modules are disassembled into large aluminum alloy pieces, broken glass, broken PV cells, and other waste materials. The broken glass needs to be remelted at high temperatures. The heat treatment method is used in the recycling of the PV cell. The EVA is completely separated from the cell by anaerobicthermal decomposition in inert gas. After a variety of chemical treatments, including acid leaching, extraction, and thermal decomposition, the materials including aluminum, steel, copper, silver, and SoG-Si can be directly put into manufacturing. Other waste materials are generally directly incinerated or landfilled. |
